PhD candidate in Applied Mathematics (expected Sep. 2015), Department of Mathematics and Statistics, York University, Canada, with rich knowledge and experience in mathematical modelling and scientific computations.

Solid background in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, optimization, modelling, probability theory and financial mathematics.

Strong programming skills in MATLAB, C, C++. Experience on model development and model validation.

Work experience

Research Assistant

I worked on numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDE) and modeling of air flow in wind farm for power optimization. I developed a new numerical scheme and parallel algorithm on improving the accuracy of large-scale simulation of PDEs. And for the first time, I modelled air flow in wind farm for power optimization and proposed numerical algorithm to solve it.

I worked on Trust Region and Line Search Methods for Equality Constraint Optimization problems. We conducted a new scheme which improves the convergence rate of numerical optimization algorithms.

The proposed industrial problem was to minimize the active losses of the transport network, on a 24-hour horizon, while respecting some constraints. We modelled the problme and gave a numerical algorithm to solve it.
